BLAIR — An Omaha photographer has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for failing to deliver photos he’d taken of youth sports teams in Washington County.

Gerald Wurgler, who pleaded guilty to theft by deception, was also ordered to pay more than $2,000 in restitution.

Authorities have said Wurgler took the sports photos and collected money for them, but never delivered the finished product.

" This story is weird. Why didn't he deliver the pictures? Or give the $2,000 back? How can so many people get probation for embezzling $200,000 from their employer, or a local non-profit, yet this guy gets 90 days for two grand?

There has to be some backstory here, LJS. "
