Former teacher sentenced for sex with Omaha inmate

OMAHA — A former teacher contracted to teach inmates at the Omaha Correctional Facility will serve two years of probation for having sex with a jail inmate.

Gary Fowler was sentenced Tuesday on a reduced charge.

Fowler had sex with a 47-year-old inmate when he was a contract teacher there. He was working for Metropolitan Community College at the time. He is no longer employed there.

" Any woman serving a life sentence for murder would be in York, not Omaha. They have community corrections is Omaha, but this was an inmate convicted to life in prison, for murder, so it has to be a male! "
