Inmate dies at Tecumseh prison hospital
A grand jury will be convened following the death of Tecumseh prison inmate Junior LeRoy Hillard.
Hillard, 64, died Monday while at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution hospital, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services.
A cause of death has not been determined, according to a news release from the Corrections Department.
Hillard, who was from Fairbury, died at 5:41 a.m. Monday, according to the release.
He had been incarcerated since Aug. 17, 2006, and was serving a 25- to 35-year sentence after being found guilty of attempted second-degree murder and felony/fugitive possession of a firearm in the November 2005 shooting of his son, Ricky Hillard.
