Voters wanting to cast their ballots in the upcoming Nov. 4 election have just a few days to make one deadline.

Nebraskans who planned on mailing in their registrations must have their forms postmarked by Friday.

Voters still have until Oct. 24 to fill out a registration form in person at county election offices.

Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale says people should update their voter registration if they have moved.

Voters with questions should contact their county election official or Gale’s office.

" After the past eight years, I hope that NO ONE skips their opportunity this time. We've seen what can happen when most voters completely lose their minds. And clearly, in a democracy, we deserve the kind of government - and economy - that we get. If you're too lazy or too apathetic to bother registering AND voting,... you should leave the country and allow some immigrant to take your place, someone who'll value what you don't.

There is NO excuse for not voting. None! A lot of people try to justify their laziness or apathy, but it's pretty clear to the rest of us, anyway. Who do you think you're fooling? "

" Born, raised American, yes it's my right to vote and I do, but it's also my right to not vote if I so choose. And guess what? This is America so even if I don't vote I can complain. I Love the USA!! "

" I've been voting since I became eligible at age 18. I always take my children with me when I go to hopefully instill in them how important and EASY it is to cast your vote.

For those of you who say, 'One vote doesn't make a difference' or 'There's no one worth voting for' think again. I'm also guessing those of you who rarely or never vote would be the first ones in line to complain if your right to vote were ever taken away. "

" When I registered to vote as a Democrat, I was verbally assaulted by the voter registrar in Douglas County. I hope everyone votes this year, especially all Democrats in Nebraska. McCain and his gang turned tail and ran away from Michigan, and he has NO campaign office anywhere in Nebraska. It looks like McCain dislikes us as much as he does Michigan. McCain and his Surrendercans are NOT trustworthy enough to lead our country. Let's all do our part to turn Nebraska 'Blue' this year and move forward into the 21st Century. "

I VOTED wrote on October 14, 2008 12:04 pm:
" If you are going to vote, make sure you are educated on the issues. Don't buy into any of the lies and propaganda designed to smear the other candidate. Don't vote for someone solely based on who your family or friends are going to vote for. (And don't vote if you're going to vote for McCain . . . just kidding)

I plan on voting for Obama, even though my vote really won't count in this state. Nebraska has not voted democratic since 1964, and before that is was in the 30's for FDR. Nebraska is one of the reddest of the red states. I think that the electoral college makes people believe that their vote won't count if they don't support who the majority of the state supports, and in reality it doesn't (except if you live in a battleground state). However, that hasn't stopped me from supporting Obama, and trying to get other people to do so. So, if you support Obama, please DO vote and use your political voice, even though it won't really count here in NE. You'll at least get one of those "I Voted" stickers! And maybe someday we can reform our election process. "
