Lutheran’s Swearer qualifies for state golf

Lincoln Lutheran’s Amy Swearer shot an 88 Tuesday, qualifying as an individual for the Class C Girls State Golf Tournament, finishing second at the C-1 District at Table Creek Golf Course.

Swearer, who was seven strokes behind the leader Steph Rodgers of Syracuse, will be joined by teammate Shelby Backhus, who tied for 10th with a 108.

Tri County, Brownell-Talbot and Johnson County Central all qualified in team play.  

* KNIGHTS QUALIFY: Lincoln Southeast finished third at the A-1 District, qualifying for the Class A girls state tournament. The Knights finished with a 388. Omaha Marian won the tournament (364) and Columbus was second (369). Southeast’s Jennifer Krieger finished eighth.
