Police are looking for a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man believed to be involved in a shooting early Sunday.

Police were called to 1011 Peach St. at 1:31 a.m. after a man was shot at a party, said Capt. David Beggs.

The 34-year-old victim was shot once in the stomach after trying to intervene in a fight, Beggs said. Officers found a 9 mm casing at the scene.

Police believe a 16-year-old boy was the shooter, Beggs said.

The victim was in stable condition at a local hospital Sunday evening, Beggs said.

" Is this a consequence of city budget cuts so our taxes can be $5 per month lower?
I would rather pay the $5 and keep the gangs from being firmly entrenched like Omaha. "

" If we paid $5 more there would no doubt have been a police officer at this location when the incident in question took place. "

" Gangs?? Really? Come on, there are no real "gangs" anywhere in Nebraska. Just bratty teenagers. This teenager is the exact reason the safe haven law should NOT be changed. I know I wouldn't want to parent this kid. What was a sixteen year old doing at a party anyway? "

" Gangs? I didn't see anything in the 5-sentence article about gangs.... "

" Shelly, there are most definitely gangs in Nebraska. They are even in small towns. Lincoln actually has one of the most dangerous gangs in the world moving in. They're called MS13 and if you paid any attention to the news at all, you would know this. We need to quit turning a blind eye to these problems and deal with them. Otherwise, we'll all end up dead. "

" How can the public call this gang related??? I didn't see anything in this article about gangs.. Isn't it funny how stories get changed and added to especially saying that this incident is definitely gang related.
People need to wise up and realize that this type of activity does happen and how could a policeman be there when it happened;that doesn't even make good sense. The police are spread out thin enough now and I am sure that they got there asap. This is Lincoln,Nebraska and shootings doe happen here...we are a large city not a small country town in the boonies...The 16 yr old didn't have any business at this party. Where were his parents??? This was not gang related and we need to quit scaring people saying it was. "
