The 34-year-old victim was shot once in the stomach after trying to intervene in a fight, Beggs said. Officers found a 9 mm casing at the scene.
Police believe a 16-year-old boy was the shooter, Beggs said.

I would rather pay the $5 and keep the gangs from being firmly entrenched like Omaha. "

People need to wise up and realize that this type of activity does happen and how could a policeman be there when it happened;that doesn't even make good sense. The police are spread out thin enough now and I am sure that they got there asap. This is Lincoln,Nebraska and shootings doe happen here...we are a large city not a small country town in the boonies...The 16 yr old didn't have any business at this party. Where were his parents??? This was not gang related and we need to quit scaring people saying it was. "
