A chain reaction accident on 70th Street Saturday sent six people to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident, involving four vehicles, was reported at 10:25 a.m.

According to police, two cars going north were stopped  on 70th Street, near Van Dorn, when a third car slowing behind them was rear ended, sending that car into the stopped vehicles.

Clarice Brown, 76, driving the fourth vehicle, a 2003 Buick Park Avenue, was cited for negligent driving.

Three of the cars were towed from the scene, said Lincoln Police Department Capt. Jim Davidsaver.

" Sounds like we need to test people every 5 years to see if they can still keep their license. These accidents can be prevented. "

" ... people from being negligent. Would you have said that if the person was 65? Or 55? How do you know this particular accident was because the driver wasn't capable of driving anymore? Maybe this person was texting while driving..... While I tend to agree with your statement about the need for testing, 76 just isn't that old anymore. My dad is older than that - and still works full-time in a factory environment! Perhaps reword your comment "If this person is not capable of driving they shouldn't be..." don't just assume this was a person that shouldn't be driving anymore. "
