McLovin draws a crowd to Lincoln movie screening

Sporting a Big Red Nebraska cap, the actor known as McLovin made a stop in Lincoln Wednesday night to promote his new movie, to referee a beer pong tournament and to get schooled by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln women’s soccer team.
“Oh my god, that was so embarrassing,” said Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who got to play an impromtu practice game with the team. “I’m a guy, they’re playing soccer, that’s not tough. But they were incredible.”
Mintz-Plasse, who played the iconic geek Fogell in “Superbad,” came to Lincoln as part of an American college-town tour promoting his new comedy, the David Wain-directed “Role Models,” which opens in theaters Nov. 7.
After suffering a crushing defeat on the soccer field, Mintz-Plasse headed over to the Ross Media Arts Center, where his new movie screened for a packed house. After the flick, which scored uproarious laughter throughout, the actor answered audience questions and signed autographs.
“I like your shirt,” Mintz-Plasse told UNL student Jake Westland, 22, during the Q&A portion of the evening. “My face is on there.”
Mintz-Plasse then went on to razz Westland about his shirt, which boasted the McLovin character on the front and was about two or three sizes too small.
“Your muscles are going to break through that,” Mintz-Plasse continued. “No, you’re sexy. Don’t worry about it.”
The actor was also asked if he had a girlfriend (no), if he had a boyfriend (no), and if he gets called McLovin a lot.
“You are the first person today,” he told the inquirer.
Afterward, Mintz-Plasse went to the Downtown Bar, 1430 O St, where he reffed beer pong and served as DJ as hordes of Lincoln girls swarmed around him.
