Lincoln Police Capt. Dennis Duckworth said early Saturday morning was a busy one for police, with several serious assaults.

At 12:45 a.m. Saturday, a 20-year-old man was kicked repeatedly by a group of individuals he accused of stealing his property. The alleged victim told police the group crashed the party he held on the 1500 block of North 27 Street, Duckworth said.

The investigation is ongoing; there were no suspects identified as of Saturday morning.

Then, at 1 a.m., police were called to the Tack Room, 1445 Cornhusker Highway, to another brawl. A 49-year-old man suffered a skull fracture and internal bleeding from hitting his head on the floor during a fight.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue medics took him to BryanLGH Medical Center West for treatment. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Duckworth said Lincoln Police have a 25-year-old man in custody they believe is responsible for the 49-year-old's injuries. He was treated and released at BryanLGH West for a broken arm sustained during the fight before he was turned over to police custody.
