Traffic stop nets marijuana near Kearney

KEARNEY — A traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Kearney has netted 60 pounds of marijuana.

The Nebraska State Patrol said a trooper stopped a car for speeding in a construction zone late Tuesday. The trooper smelled drugs coming from the car, and a search turned up the pot in the trunk.

The driver, Kelly Hamed, and a passenger, Nina Silva Najah, both of Hobart, Ind., were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
