Lancaster County Republicans will watch Tuesday night’s presidential debate at Randy’s Grill and Chill at 4947 Holdrege St.

GOP County Chairman Dallas Jones encouraged supporters of John McCain to bring their families to the event, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

McCain’s televised debate with Democratic nominee Barack Obama will begin at 8 p.m.

Randy’s will serve a $2.99 half-pound hamburger and fries special, Jones said.

Lancaster County Democrats will watch the debate at Zen’s Lounge at 122 No. 11th St.

" Enjoy watching the continuing downward slide of the Republican party. Can you imagine McCain not even winning Nebraska? That would be something. You better hope the women who drank Palin Kool-Aid come out in full force.

Also, did anyone else notice the difference in venues for each party? Fitting. "

" Notice the venues. The democratic party is at an overpriced downtown bar while the republican party is meeting at a bar and grill in a residential part of town you can bring your family to. "

" Hadrian, maybe the Democrats have slightly better taste. Ever think of that? "

" I've been to both places at least once. Zen serves quality booze at a decent price, since it is competing with multiple upscale cocktail bars downtown. Randy's domestic beer prices were a bit higher than downtown, but doesn't have a whole lot of competition in the area.
From my experience, a debate watch party really is no place for a child. It's just a bunch of people drinking and watching a debate instead of a husker football game. "

" Good thing even the local small town GOP gets the "bring you family" blurb into the paper. Surprised he couldn't get a Yeah God in there as well. "

" Yes Hadrian, we did notice. Dems support the growth and vitalization of downtown and not the exodus and sprawl of Lincoln's "suburbs". Regardless of affiliation, this is what elections are all about and illustrate the importance of getting involved in the process. An even better idea would be a 3rd location hosting a nonpartisan event where anyone can come be part of "the Debates". "

" Also, would like to point out that Randy's Grill and Chill has also had democratic events held there also. I think it is nice that businesses are willing to open up to let people watch the debate. Especailly a venue that allows both parties. Good job Randy's Grill and Chill. "

" The national polls show that the republician Presidential and
Vice Presidential campaigns are dead. Perhaps they should schedule tonights viewing at a cementary. "

" Darn, and I was really looking forward to Randy's tonight. Oh well. Have to find a different night to go. Thanks, anyway for being open to both sides. "

" Pathetic, even on a little issue on where the respective parties are to watch the debate, the liberals/democrats can't help themselves from getting their trademark cheap shots in and show their elitism over the GOP citizens. Good job living up to your reputation. BTW - McCain could possibly lose the Omaha congressional area vote to Obama so that would give Obama (unlikely) 1 electoral vote and McCain 2, plus the majority win so there's 2 more. Final score for Nebraska: McCain 4, Obama 1. Get your facts straight Pat! "

" Yashirin hss enjoyed Randy's Grill for most of the campaign, I doubt if the GOP will attract supporters who have ben impressed with Max's presence there. This is so funny that the GOP is crawling into a place that has been temporarily vacated by Yashirin so the GOP can "look folksy". "

" I noticed John McCain wasn't wearing a flag lapel pin last night. He wasn't wearing a flag lapel pin at the first debate either.
Why does John McCain hate America? "
