Robbery suspects in custody
By the Lincoln Journal Star
Three men robbed a Lincoln bank Monday afternoon. In less than an hour, police had suspects in custody.
Three men entered Tier One bank, 5300 S. 56th St., at 12:15 p.m., said Officer Katie Flood. One of them had a crowbar.
She said they demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount. No one was hurt.

They left in a light blue Chrysler LeBaron, found abandoned a short distance away in an alley just north of The Alamo, police said. Witnesses saw them leave in a red car.
Flood said by 12:50 p.m., police had spotted the car and had two men in custody.
A third man tried to run from the getaway car into a field near Novartis, 10401 Nebraska 6, but put his hands up and surrendered to police soon after. Flood said they had the help of a Nebraska State Patrol helicopter.
She said that car was registered in Omaha, though it wasn’t clear yet if the men were from there, too.
Flood said the stolen money was recovered.
“We’re pleased with the quick arrest and that all of the agencies were able to work together,” she said.
