Southeast 6-0, Northeast 1-4: KK Houser of Southeast stole six bases in the doubleheader to tie the state record for steals in a season. Houser ties the record of 50 set by Omaha Westside’s Jennifer Bohle in 2006. In the opener, Houser was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three steals. She was 2-for-4 in the nightcap, also with three steals. Matley Jones and Kasey Bose each homered for the Knights. For Northeast, Jocelyn Wittrock was 2-of-7 on the night and teammate Sarah Larson was 2-of-3 in the second game.

" who have they played? stealing on teams like Pius, grand island, norfolk, lincoln high and LNE etc.?? Come on......did she steal during the westside game? Have they played anyone else tough?
when you can steal 2-3 bases or more during games against weaker competition it's like stealing candy from a baby! No matter how you slice it they are still a 7-18 team....KK gets credit for stealing bases on weaker teams.....you go girl ! "

" Aintnothing what have u done? weaker teams hun? The kids is fast and has talent and all you can do is talk crp about her? Come on are you jealous that she has skill that u want? Face it the kids good no matter who they play. A wins a win no matter how u got it and a steals a steal no matter how you got it. Westside hun? Bring on Amy Baker KKs ready! Oh yes pratice your basketball skills she gonna get you there to! "

" Yeah, "aintnothing", just like she scores all those points on no talent bb teams, and runs all those no talent slow girls into the ground in the hurdles during the spring. Nice one. . . not much of a point, but you sure sound witty.

For the record, she has scored over 1000 points in bb, won a state championship, has won 3 all class golds in track, has run the 5th best 100m hurdles in state history and has run on the fastest 4x400 relay team in state history. So, for anyone to think her state record for stealing bases is a joke, the jokes on you. She breaks state records in every sport she is in; why should a sport like softball, where athletic ability is not required, be more of a challenge for her than basketball or track?

She apparently sets records while you only ridicule those who do. Sort of pathetic when you think about it. "

" May want to restate the comment about not needing athletic ability to play softball. Wonder how many softball players would agree with that one. Why when a kid is doing something good do others slam them. Be thankful she is doing something good cuz there are lots of others out there who are doing bad. Give her the credit. "

" She should have broke those records playing for the Spartans. If she wouldn't have transfered East High would be state contenders in softball and basketball!!! "

McClaggen wrote on September 27, 2008 9:04 pm:
" Spartan, she didn't "transfer" from anywhere. She simply chose to go to LSE after her 8th grade year at Lux. Maybe you don't believe in choice, but that is what this country is all about. Also, she got superior coaching at LSE. . .in softball, basketball and track. Stop whining about the past and start playing. "

" Superior coaching at LSE?? Maybe in basketball - but to say that about LSE softball in comparison to East is pretty ridiculous.

Congrats to KK on the stolen base record. "
