Obama opens second Omaha office
By The Associated Press
OMAHA — Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign is opening a second office in Omaha.
Obama’s Nebraska campaign announced Friday that the new location would open Wednesday in north Omaha. The first office opened near midtown on Sept. 10.
State campaign director John Berge said staff at the new office would come from its existing pool of 15 paid employees and campaign volunteers.
Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, has said the campaign will pursue the electoral vote tied to Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes Omaha. Nebraska and Maine are the only two states that can split their electoral votes.
Campaign spokeswoman Erin Fitzgerald said that as of Friday, there were no plans for Obama to visit Nebraska before the Nov. 4 election.
