Omaha man sentenced in attack on ex-girlfriend
By The Associated Press
OMAHA — A man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and forcing her and her young son from their Omaha home has been sentenced to up to five years in prison.
Anthony Miller pleaded guilty in July of two counts of assault by strangulation.
Police say the 27-year-old Miller broke into the 26-year-old woman’s home in February, choked her, then forced her and her 5-year-old mentally disabled son into her car.
The woman later leapt from the moving car and sought help from a delivery truck driver.
At the time of that attack, Miller had an outstanding warrant for his arrest accusing him of attacking the same woman some four months earlier.
Miller could be released in after a year under good-time rules and credit for time already served.
