Police arrested a 51-year-old transient suspected of threatening a man and woman with a gun early Friday.

Marvin Campbell allegedly knocked on the door of a residence on the 1500 block of E Street at 3:30 a.m., said Capt. Dennis Duckworth.

When a 42-year-old woman and 55-year-old man answered the door, Campbell allegedly pushed his way inside and made them sit down, said Officer Katie Flood. He allegedly held a gun to their heads and told them he was going to kill them.

Campbell once lived in their building, Duckworth said.

The woman was able to call 911 on her cell phone and whisper what was happening, and when police arrived Campbell was still in the apartment, Flood said.

A BB gun was recovered from under an end table in the living room, Flood said.

Campbell was arrested and jailed on suspicion of terroristic threats.

Campbell was arrested just last week on suspicion of terroristic threats, Duckworth said. In that incident, Campbell allegedly approached two people in the area of 16th and N streets and asked for money.

When the people told Campbell they didn’t have any money, he allegedly pulled what they thought was a long-bladed knife and waved it around at them.  The alleged weapon was actually a knife sharpening instrument.

No one was hurt in either of the incidents.
