Charge dismissed against G.I. mother in baby's death
By The Associated Press
GRAND ISLAND — A criminal case against a Grand Island woman accused in the death of her baby has been dismissed.
Tiffany Bohlen was charged with manslaughter in the February death of her 7-week-old daughter, Caitlynne.
According to police, the infant died after a pacifier was placed in her mouth, a blanket was wrapped around her head and she was squeezed against the side of her bassinet with a pillow.
Bohlen’s boyfriend, Christopher Klein, pleaded no contest on Tuesday to manslaughter. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 30.
In a decision by Hall County Judge David Bush, evidence presented during Bohlen’s preliminary hearing indicates it was Klein who wrapped the baby and put her to bed the night she died.
