Pipeline project expected to improve service to Nebraska terminals
By The Lincoln Journal Star
NuStar Energy of San Antonio announced construction on its East Pipeline System in Kansas that it says will improve refined product delivery to its terminals in Nebraska and elsewhere.
The $16.1 million expansion of the pipeline from El Dorado, Kan., to Potwin, Kan., will increase the capacity and operating flexibility of NuStar’s pipeline system in the region, improving the flow of refined products from U. S. Gulf Coast and mid-continent supply connections to customers in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and the Dakotas, the company said.
The Nustar pipeline leads to five terminals in Nebraska, of the East System’s total of 17. The Nebraska terminals are North Platte, Geneva, Osceola, Columbus and Norfolk.
The terminal at Yankton, SD is right on the border to Nebraska which means it also supplies Nebraska demand, a spokeswoman said.
Nustar has fast-tracked the construction project and it is expected to be completed in May 2009.
NuStar Energy L.P. is a publicly traded, limited partnership based in San Antonio.
