OMAHA — Authorities are searching for the driver of a car that hit a road worker on Interstate 80 in Omaha.

Police say the worker was injured about 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the westbound lane of I-80. The worker’s name and condition weren’t immediately released.

Authorities say two vehicles collided, and one was pushed into the worker. One of the vehicles left the scene. The car was later found, but the driver was gone.

The westbound I-80 reopened about midnight.

" Nebraska should be like Missouri. Hit a worker $10,000 fine and lose your license. This driver deserves some jail time for this one. "
