Omaha student accused of threatening classmates
By The Associated Press
OMAHA — A student at an alternative high school in Omaha has been accused of threatening his classmates.
Michael Tufly, a senior at Millard Learning Center, has been charged with making terroristic threats. His bond was set Tuesday at $25,000.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Tufly told one student and text-messaged another about his plans last Friday. One of the students called police Friday night.
According to police reports, Tufly admitted making the comments and said he’d “been planning the attack for nearly a year.”
Police searched Tufly’s home and seized seven weapons from a storage room in the basement. The weapons apparently belong to Tufly’s father.
Amy Friedman of Millard Public Schools said Tufly has been expelled.
