State volleyball tournament dates, venues set

All six Lincoln public high schools, the Pershing Center and the NU Coliseum will be used for the first three-day state high school volleyball tournament set for Nov. 13-15.

In the schedule, released by the Nebraska School Activities Association this month, five of the six LPS schools will be utilized for first-round matches on Thursday, Nov. 13. Southeast will host Class B, with C-1 set for Northeast, C-2 set for East High, D-1 scheduled for Southwest and D-2 at North Star. Class A will play its first round at Pershing Center. Match times in all six classes are 1:30, 3:30, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The semifinals on Friday, Nov. 14, will be at Pershing (A, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.; C-1, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.; B, 7 and 9 p.m.) and Lincoln High (D-2, 9:30 and 11:30; D-1, 2:30 and 4:30; C-2, 7 and 9).

All six championship matches will be at the NU Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 15. Action begins in Class D-2 at 9:30 a.m. with C-1 to follow at 11:30 a.m. and A at 1:30 p.m. The evening session has D-1 at 5 p.m., B at 7 p.m. and C-2 at 9 o’clock.

The third-place matches will be split between Lincoln High (A, 10 a.m.; D-2, noon; C-1, 2 p.m.) and Southeast (D-1, 10 a.m.; C-2, noon; B, 2 p.m.).
