** TUESDAY: Lincoln 6, St. Paul 4

** WHAT WENT RIGHT: The start. The Saltdogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings against St. Paul starter Charlie Ruud, who came into the game with 12 wins. Lincoln third baseman Shea McFeely hit a solo home run in the second to get the scoring going. McFeely wasn’t done. With the bases loaded in the fifth inning, McFeely drove a 2-2 pitch to the warning track, clearing the bases and giving Lincoln a comfortable 5-0 lead. McFeely, who finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs, later scored on Deacon Burns’ RBI single. Lincoln starter Ryan Trytten took a no-hitter into the fifth before departing in the sixth. Dustin Yount and Shawn McGill had two hits each for Lincoln.

** WHAT WENT WRONG: The bullpen was a bit shakey after Trytten left the game. St. Paul scored a run in the seventh without recording a hit. The Saints did it again in the ninth.

** DOG BYTES: With the win, the Saltdogs keep their playoff hopes alive. However, Sioux City won, maintaining the Explorers’ 1.5-game lead over the Dogs with four games remaining. ... Jarrett Gardner will take the mound Wednesday night for Lincoln in the series finale against the Saints.
