Neil Young is coming to the Qwest Center on Nov. 5.

The Omaha show was announced late Monday night along with the rest of Young’s tour, which will begin on Oct. 14 in St. Paul, Minn. and end at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Dec. 15. Joining Young on Omaha date will be Death Cab for Cutie and Everest.

Rock icon Young has rarely played Nebraska. He was part of Farm Aid III at Memorial Stadium in 1987 and previously stopped at Omaha’s Civic Auditorium during his rockabilly phase in 1983.

The new tour comes on the heels of Young’s hugely successful 2008 European Tour that brought him before audiences in 14 countries over the course of three months. The concerts will feature Young with the same band that  backed him in Europe - Ben Keith, Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, Anthony Crawford and Pegi Young.

As is always the case with Young, sets are expected to be eclectic, featuring both newer material and classic hits.

Tickets for the Qwest Center show will go on sale on Sept. 12. Precise ticket prices are not yet available. But a release from Young’s publicist states that: “All shows this tour will be GA floor with reserved seating in the stands. GA Tickets will be prices at $75.00 with reserved stand tickets ranging in price from $45.00 to $250.00 (plus all applicable service charges).

" Here's another good show in OMAHA. With the loss of yet another air carrier here in Lincoln I rather doubt that even a new center will be of any big help. Let's NOT waste another dollar on the Haymarket project. Everyone know that it will only benefit the mighty UNL!!!! "

" lincoln. Look at the schedule and you will see that top names don't do anything smaller than omaha. Lincoln, the entertainment capitol of the world, seems to be what the vision 2015 group and their friends think can happen. Wrong!!!!! This guy ain't exactly the top entertainment in the country and even he doesn't do lincoln. Forget the grandeous dreams lincoln and be satisfied with your football team. Even they may make a comeback in future years. "

" Does it really matter. yet another show comes to the Qwest center that only if you are rich you may attend. How much is ticketmaster and the qwest center gonna charge us on a single ticket for this show. At least at pershing shows I can take the wife and still might be able to go to the show with decent tickets and still spend under $100 "

" It would be nice to see a good band come to Lincoln. All the top groups used to come to Lincoln instead of Omaha. I saw Kiss and Van Halen at Pershing. Saw Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Spingsteen at Devaney. Without a new auditium we will never see the level of groups here again. "
