The declaration of “new management, new owners, new carts” and such proclaims a change at Crooked Creek Golf Course.

The new owner is Pinnacle Bank. The new course manager is Rick Reynoldson. The new plans for the golfers is a course improvement and a reinvigorated attitude for the course at 134th and O.

After a series of puzzling and confusing moves through bankruptcy by previous owners, two auctions, Pinnacle is in charge and putting more funds into fixing needed repairs for the course that was opened in the mid-1990s.

“The new owners was a first-class course and they are already working on new irrigation pipes from the wells on the property and have purchased a new greens mower and put more than $225,000 into course improvements since taking over May 20,” Reynoldson said.

Reynoldson is a local pro who has worked at Ashland Country Club and Mahoney Golf Course among other courses in his career. He has been at Crooked Creek since early this year. Marc Cruse, a former owner and pro, is still offering golf lessons but as a private entity at the course.

Reynoldson said the new rates are competitive with other local courses. Monday through Friday seniors and juniors are $20 for 18 with a cart and regular fees are $25. On weekends, the rates are $10 higher.

“The only way to get back the golfers who have enjoyed this course in the past is to show we are willing to make the improvements and make them feel welcomed,” Reynoldson said. “Those who haven’t played here to give it a try.”

The course is honoring all previous public obligations, he said.

This year, one of the minority owners, Bob Schuchart, took over control then Pinnacle foreclosed on the property.

" I golf Crooked Creek Golf Club 3 times a week and have not seen any other course that competes with its pricing and overall play. The greens are green and smooth while the fairways are country club quality. The course is in amazing shape! It is an overall improvement from years past. "

" Was it harde for the last owner to operate, when it's his money and not the city's as in Mahoney. Pinnacle what a stupid investment, its a dog track. "

" I was just out there for time is a year or two. Enjoyed it very much. Especially the price. It was worth the $25 I shelled out. I may have played nicer recently, but at nearly double or triple the price.

I hope they keep rates reasonable. I plan to go back a couple more times this year just because of that. Way better than palying overcrowded courses in Lincoln. "

" "ngolf"---First off, what are you trying to say? You make no sense. Secondly, I think that they have done a great job turning the place around no matter how they accomplished it. I hope that they can keep up the good work for the sake of the whole golfing community! "

" Yes the course is in much better condition, but the very slow play needs to have a marshal, I never saw any beverage cart, and the employees mowing show very little consideration to the people golfing. I think I'll wait awhile before I go back. I've been golfing there a lot the last few years and the employees before were better. "

" I play out there quite a bit. The best employees that place had were there from year 2000 and earlier. After 2000, it went downhill with overall service. There were a few nice people in the pro shop, but some of them seemed rude and appeared to be working in the wrong business. The people they have now with the new management are OK, but not great from what I have seen. "
