Mead middle blocker to play for Creighton
Mead senior Heather Thorson said Wednesday that she had accepted a scholarship offer to play volleyball at Creighton. The 6-foot-2 middle blocker will join the Jays for the 2009 season.
“I liked Creighton a lot because of the education,” said Thorson, who plans to go into dentistry. “The coaches are awesome and I love the idea of staying close to home.”
A second-team Class D-1 all-state selection last fall, Thorson played club ball this summer for Premier. She received a scholarship offer from Creighton last week.
