Bootleggers Run washed out Thursday
By the Lincoln Journal Star
A rain shower that drenched Eagle Raceway just before 5 p.m. forced Thursday night’s Bootleggers Run Race of Champions featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Sterling Marlin and Kenny Schrader to be postponed.
Event organizer Bruce Patrum said he hopes to have a new date scheduled by Monday.
None of the drivers were at the track when the rain hit. Schrader had arrived in Lincoln on Wednesday, and Marlin made it to Omaha on Thursday. Kenseth and Bowyer both pilot their own planes. Kenseth never headed to the track, while Bowyer was still circling in his plane as the inclement weather moved in.

Finding a new date for the event could be tricky, since the Sprint Cup schedule resumes next weekend and runs for 17 consecutive weekends. The closest Cup drivers will get to Eagle will be for the Sept. 28 race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
