The declaration of “new management, new owners, new carts” and such proclaims a change at Crooked Creek Golf Course.

The new owner is Pinnacle Bank. The new course manager is Rick Reynoldson. The new plans for the golfers is a course improvement and a reinvigorated attitude for the course at 134th and O.

After a series of puzzling and confusing moves through bankruptcy by previous owners, two auctions, Pinnacle is in charge and putting more funds into fixing needed repairs for the course that was opened in the mid-1990s.

“The new owners was a first-class course and they are already working on new irrigation pipes from the wells on the property and have purchased a new greens mower and put more than $225,000 into course improvements since taking over May 20,” Reynoldson said.

Reynoldson is a local pro who has worked at Ashland Country Club and Mahoney Golf Course among other courses in his career. He has been at Crooked Creek since early this year. Marc Cruse, a former owner and pro, is still offering golf lessons but as a private entity at the course.

Reynoldson said the new rates are competitive with other local courses. Monday through Friday seniors and juniors are $20 for 18 with a cart and regular fees are $25. On weekends, the rates are $10 higher.

“The only way to get back the golfers who have enjoyed this course in the past is to show we are willing to make the improvements and make them feel welcomed,” Reynoldson said. “Those who haven’t played here to give it a try.”

The course is honoring all previous public obligations, he said.

This year, one of the minority owners, Bob Schuchart, took over control then Pinnacle foreclosed on the property.
