U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf on Thursday sentenced Michael D. Washington, 33, of Lincoln to 11 years in prison for his role in a drug conspiracy. Authorities said Washington conspired with others to distribute crack cocaine in Lincoln between late 2004 and September 2007.

During their investigation, undercover officers made several drug purchases from Washington, according to the U.S. attorney for Nebraska.

As part of a deal, Washington pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine in exchange for dismissal of two additional counts.

" It's about time that the LPD cracks down on crack cocaine or meth. Leave the pot heads alone. There are obviously worse drugs out there then marijuana. Way to get the crack heads off the street and in jail where they belong. "

" He'll only serve 1/2 that time and be out in 5 years. "

" It says he was sentenced to 11 years but it won't tell if he is making a deal to become an informant to provide information on other drug dealers. If he does that he could be out in 2 or 3 years.
So they have 1 drug dealer gone and 10 people that have already taken his place. It's a vicious cycle that will never go away no matter how hard they try to crack down on it. "
