22-year-old man hurt by fireworks in north Omaha
By The Associated Press
OMAHA — A spokeswoman with the Nebraska Medical Center’s burn unit says 11 people sought treatment for fireworks-related injuries over the Fourth of the July holiday, and three were admitted to the hospital.
The hospital reports that a 22-year-old man was seriously injured Friday night in north Omaha by sparklers that were taped together. He’s among the three patients still being treated at the hospital.
Hospital officials say two others — a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl — are being treated for serious burns suffered in separate accidents involving artillery shells.
