MACY — The girl who was killed in a stabbing on the Omaha Indian Reservation at Macy this week has been identified.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Omaha confirmed that 15-year-old LaTressa Lee Walker died Wednesday morning, and charges are pending against another teen who is in custody.
An 18-year-old was injured in the incident.
LaTressa’s mother, Diane Walker, says her daughter was trying to break up an argument between two other girls when she was stabbed around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Diane Walker says her daughter would have been in the ninth grade this fall, and she was a good student who loved to play basketball.
Macy is a town of about 1,000 within the Omaha Indian Reservation in northeast Nebraska.
