Omaha police investigate fatal July 4 shooting

OMAHA — Omaha police are investigating a fatal Fourth of July shooting.

Police say a shooting was reported in northeast Omaha shortly after 4 a.m. Friday.

Officers found 28-year-old Franklin Taylor Jr. on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
