A man who allegedly used his cell phone to record a woman while she was tanning at Gold’s Gym is one of three defendants she is suing.
In a lawsuit filed this week in Lancaster County District Court, the woman alleged that while a member at the gym, 1241 N. 48th St., her privacy was invaded.
The 24-year-old woman told police in April she was getting ready to tan at the gym when she saw a cell phone sticking over the partition. She said she realized she was being recorded, and saw the phone being taken away.
According to the lawsuit, she heard rapid footsteps go down the stairs as she covered herself.
She is suing Lincoln Fitness Systems, Gold’s Gym Inc. and then-employee Zachary Armstrong, 22. Johnson was charged in May with criminal intrusion. He has pleaded not guilty.
In the lawsuit, the woman said she has experienced shock, humiliation, embarrassment and degradation since the incident. She said she has been treated differently by her family, friends and co-workers since the incident, and is concerned that the recording of her may have been posted on the Internet.
