Former Nebraska fullback Willie Miller has been ordered to stand trial in Douglas County District Court on charges stemming from an alleged road-rage incident last month.

Miller is charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief for allegedly ramming the rear of a car driven by an off-duty police officer in west Omaha on April 8. If convicted, Miller could face up to five years in prison on each charge.

The officer said in court Wednesday that he saw Miller’s vehicle make a reckless lane change. The officer said he honked his car’s horn at Miller, then noticed Miller following him a short time later. He said Miller rammed him at a high speed from behind, pushing his vehicle 40 to 50 feet and causing the officer’s vehicle to hit a minivan.
