Sixteen members of the Nebraska Army National Guard will be welcomed home during a ceremony Tuesday at the Lincoln armory.

The Guard says the members, from a variety of Nebraska units, were being processed Monday at Fort Riley in Kansas. They’re expected to arrive in Lincoln at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a private welcoming ceremony attended by Gov. Dave Heineman and Brig. Gen. Tim Kadavy to follow.

The Guard says the members have been in Afghanistan for the past year, training the country’s national army and police force.
