MADISON — Authorities in Madison County are looking for two teens who escaped from a detention facility there.

A third teen — a 14-year-old from the Columbus area — was apprehended immediately after Thursday night’s escape from the Northeast Nebraska Juvenile Detention Center.

Sheriff Vern Hjorth says the teens damaged a door in a nonsecure area of the center and escaped.

A Madison resident reported his truck stolen early Friday morning, and it is believed that the teens took the vehicle and abandoned it after a pursuit near Walthill.

" I read this and thought might help if there were some names of the AWOL kids. This is useless. "

" Hey Rae, what difference does the county the youth came from make? And who cares where they're from. They escaped and need to be apprehended.

" whats the point of even doing a story on this if there are no names or descriptions? how are we supposed to help the police catch these escapees with this information? "

" First of all, names of minors can not be given without a parent or gaurdian consent. Second, I'm sure the authorities know who they are, where they are from, and where their friends and family live and have already been in contact with these people. "
