A 23-year-old Lincoln man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault of a child for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy last fall.

Joel Thomas Batten, 4119 N. 20th St.,  allegedly had sexual contact with the boy, who has since turned 14, sometime between August and October, said Officer Katie Flood.

The Family Crimes Unit of Lincoln Police investigated the incident after learning of the relationship from the victim’s school counselor, Flood said.
