After getting roughed up recently in Big 12 Conference play, Nebraska’s Molly Hill pitched two shutouts Wednesday as the Husker softball team swept North Dakota State 7-0 and 1-0 at Haymarket Park.

"These were not gimme nonconference games," Nebraska coach Rhonda Revelle said. "It was just a really good day for us."

In the first game, the Huskers (19-23) recorded a hit in every inning. Nebraska scored two runs in bottom of the first to take an early lead.

Junior first baseman Crystal Carwile hit a solo homer in the bottom of the third to expand the Huskers' lead. The Huskers added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Hill stuck out 10 and gave up only three hits. Only one of those hits left the infield.

The Huskers didn't have the same kind of offensive success in the second game, but Carwile's solo homer in the bottom of the first proved to be enough. Carwile has hit four home runs in her past five games.

Hill continued pitching well in game two and was able to consistently get out of jams. The Bison left eight on base.

"I'm really happy for her," Revelle said of Hill. "It's been a tough year for her, and I'm happy to see her have a day like this."
