Colorado overcame a 3-1 team score deficit by capturing the final three singles matches as the Buffaloes took a 4-3 women’s tennis victory against Nebraska Sunday at the Nebraska Tennis Center.
After CU won two of the three doubles matches to win the doubles point, the Huskers (15-5 overall, 4-5 in the Big 12) got straight set victories from their top three singles players — Imke Reimers (No. 1), Wiveca Swarting (No. 2) and Jana Albers No. 3) — to go up 3-1. Colorado (9-10, 6-3) then won tight matches in the bottom three spots, clinching the victory when Veera Nurmi battled back for a 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-1 win over NU’s Stephanie Evans at No. 4.
