Nearly four months after actor Heath Ledger’s death of an accidental overdose, his posthumous movie character is the hottest-selling toy out there.

The New York Post reported this week that Mattel’s Joker action figures — which depict Ledger from the upcoming Batman sequel — flew off the shelves all over New York City. Priced at $9.99 a pop, the toys are selling out in several other places in the country as well, with some savvy shoppers reportedly reselling dolls on eBay for five to six times the original price.

But as heavily sought after as this action figure is, you can still nab a Joker in Lincoln.

First, note that a few variations of the action figure are available. The one packaged with the “crime scene evidence” is more difficult to find.

Several Jokers with the crime-scene evidence are still available at Lincoln’s Wal-Mart stores, toy department reps said.

A customer service rep at the Lincoln Toys R Us, 5220 N. 27th St., said the store had one of the harder-to-find Joker dolls left, but it has since been sold. The store put the dolls on shelves late last week, and they sold quickly, the representative said.

Reps at all three Lincoln Targets said as of Wednesday, the Jokers are either gone or haven’t been shipped in yet.

“The Dark Knight” will hit theaters July 18.
