A State of Nebraska employee is the next to be accused of tax evasion involving motor vehicle taxes.

Molly Uden, who works in Health and Human Services, was ticketed on suspicion of tax evasion, a felony, and motor vehicle registration situs, a misdemeanor, according to Beverly Neth of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The allegations came about as a result of an investigation by the fraud investigation division of the Driver & Vehicle Records Division and the Nebraska State Patrol.

Neth said Uden was given a court date of June 3.

At a press conference earlier this month, state officials said they were going to be cracking down on Nebraskans who register their vehicles in other states to save money, causing the state to lose $11 million annually.
