3 more suspects in drug busts get $2M bonds

Two of the seven men arrested in an alleged local drug trafficking ring learned Friday that they face charges of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

A third appears to have been tailed by police for more than six months prior to a series of raids Wednesday, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Jose A. Hernandez, 24, and  Avimael A. Monroy, 20, are both accused of being involved in the trafficking of cocaine and methamphetamine.

According to probable cause documents filed in Lancaster County Court, the men were both at an apartment at 567 Fletcher Ave. on Wednesday. Police found the two men in Apartment 2, along with 375 grams of cocaine and 603 grams of methamphetamine.

Luis Gomez Corrales, 19, faces charges of of aiding and abetting the delivery of a controlled substance. According to a probable cause affidavit, police witnessed him on multiple occasions purchase MSM, a horse vitamin used as a cutting agent for meth, starting in August 2007.

The three men were each being held on $2 million percentage bonds in Lancaster County Jail. A fourth man, Aurelio Valdovinos Sanchez, 40, was being held in jail Friday night for court.

An investigation into an alleged local drug trafficking organization led to four raids and seven arrests in Lincoln on Wednesday.

Police believe the group — which also includes Julio Flores Garcia, 37, John D. Rademacker, 22, and Daniel Amaro Sanchez, 24 — has distribution ties to a significant portion of eastern Nebraska, and additional arrests and seizures are anticipated, according to Lincoln police.

Authorities seized five vehicles, more than $80,000, more than 1 pound of methamphetamine and almost 1 pound of cocaine during raids on four addresses Wednesday.
