Man sentenced to 7 years on gun charge
U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Kopf has sentenced Lesavior Jordan to seven years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On June 10, Jordan, who had three prior felony convictions, had been asked to leave a home near 32nd and B streets just before 3 a.m., and allegedly fired several shots as he drove away.
Police found Jordan’s Jeep parked at 27th and P streets later that morning and a handgun on the ground next to Jordan when he was contacted by officers. He was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and of marijuana.
Kopf handed down the sentence on Thursday.
