New Web site geared toward jail plans
The architects designing the new Lancaster County jail launched a Web site to communicate details involved in the planning process.
Lincoln-based Clark Enersen Partners unveiled the site, http://newadf.com, this week.
The site is a work in progress; some portions, including a feedback tool, are under construction.
But already available to visitors is a frequently asked questions section, studies and related resources, and information from design workshops.
The design team concluded its second session of workshops this week, drawing 70 community program providers to brainstorm ways to design the jail to prevent it from becoming a revolving door for offenders.
The sessions also have gathered corrections personnel, law enforcement and other stakeholders.
Clark Enersen, along with its partner, PSA-Dewberry, are leading the design process, which began in February. The work is expected to stretch through the end of this year. Construction could begin early next year.
The jail will be built at Southwest 40th and West O.
