Lincoln Electric System customers have received fraudulent calls within the past week requesting credit card information.

J. Todd Hall, vice president of Consumer Services, said LES does not make outbound calls to collect on any accounts.

He said customers should never give their personal credit card information to anyone claiming to represent LES. Customers receiving such calls should hang up and contact the police or call LES at 475-4211.

Several customers reported in February they were asked to provide their credit card numbers to pay on past due bills, Hall said. Two instances of fraudulent calls have occurred within the past week. The caller used a blocked phone number so it couldn’t be traced.
