Raids, arrests made in local drug trafficking group
An investigation into an alleged local drug trafficking organization led to four raids and seven arrests in Lincoln on Wednesday.
Police believe the group has distribution ties with a significant portion of eastern Nebraska, and additional arrests and seizures are anticipated, according to Lincoln Police.
Authorities seized five vehicles, more than $80,000, more than 1 pound of methamphetamine and almost 1 pound of cocaine from the following addresses:
* 567 Fletcher Ave., No. 12
* 1611 Prairie Lane
* 4300 N. Seventh St., No. 205
* La Hacienda de Flores, 101 N. First St., Suite 4
Seven people believed to be members of the alleged group were arrested.
* Julio Flores Garcia, 37, 1018 Claremont St.
* Aurelio Valdovinos Sanchez, 40, 1611 Prairie Lane.
* Luis Arturo Corrales Gomez, 19, 4300 N. Seventh St., No. 205.
* Daniel Amaro Sanchez, 24, 4434 N. Seventh St., No. 208.
* John D. Rademacker, 22, unknown address.
* Jose Hernandez, 24, unknown address.
* Avimael Monroy, 20, unknown address.
Sixty law enforcement officers participated in serving the search warrants and making the arrests.
The group is believed to be responsible for distributing hundreds of pounds of meth in Lincoln and other Nebraska communities.
The investigation began in August and identified suspects through the use of confidential informants, offender interviews, undercover buys and other techniques.
The Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force made a series of undercover buys during the investigation, allegedly obtaining more than a pound of meth and about half a pound of cocaine from the group.
Police say the group also is involved in weapons offenses and trading stolen property for drugs.
Wednesday’s raids and arrests were made by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the DEA, FBI, Nebraska State Patrol, Lincoln Police SWAT team, Lancaster County Sheriff SWAT team, University Police, Columbus Police, Lancaster County and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
