Family to hold benefit to honor Megan Churchill
By the Lincoln Journal Star
It’s been a year since Megan Churchill was in a car crash in Lincoln and nearly a year since she died from her injuries.
This weekend, her family and friends will host a benefit campout to honor her life and raise money to help pay bills from her hospital stay and burial.
Churchill, 15, was a backseat passenger in a car driven by Ricky Turco when it slammed into a tree near 18th and Stockwell streets on March 26, 2007. Turco said he picked up Churchill and some other friends from Lincoln High School that day and decided to “jump the hill” on Stockwell.

The campout will be Friday through Sunday at 926 N. Eighth St. For more information, contact Tina Tindle at 467-5375.
