Missing woman found dead after car accident
Lincoln Journal Star
A 22-year-old Sterling woman who had been reported missing was found dead in her car under the Shaw Creek bridge near Adams.
Crystal L. Labbe was reported missing when she did not return home from a friend’s residence in rural Adams, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies searched the area and found Labbe’s 2001 Chevy Malibu under the Shaw Creek bridge around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
It appears Labbe’s car was traveling eastbound on Nebraska 41 when it left the road to the north, continuing eastbound on the north side of the bridge railing. The car struck the bridge pilings under the bridge and came to a rest on the northeast creek bed.
Labbe, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
