A Malcolm home is believed to be a total loss following a Saturday afternoon fire, officials said.

A damage estimate to the home near the 7500 Block of West Waverly Road was $460,000, although actual damages are not yet known, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s report.

At around 2:30 p.m., the Raymond Fire Department responded to a call that smoke was coming from the home.

Arriving firefighters found the house engulfed in flames. They were assisted by  Malcom, Valparaiso and Air Guard fire departments.

No one was injured. The inhabitants were vacationing in Wyoming. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
