This weekend might be a good time to stay holed up at home, in front of a crackling fire, if possible -- forecasters say we’re in for a cold spell.

Scattered snow showers were predicted for Friday morning, with the temperature expected to peak around 25 by 9 a.m., falling to around 13 for the rest of the day.

Blustery conditions were expected to make Friday afternoon feel even colder, with a predicted north northwest wind between 13 and 21 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. Forecasters were expecting less than half an inch of total daytime snow accumulation.

Temperatures were predicted to drop to around minus three on Friday night, but wind chill values were expected to make it feel more like minus 14.

Forecasters say wind chill values of 10 below to 25 below zero will continue into early Saturday morning. Saturday’s forecast is mostly sunny, with a high near 13 and wind chill values as low as minus 15.

Snow is likely on Sunday, with a high near 13.

Forecasters say there is a 50 percent chance of snow again on Monday, with a high near 10.

" Temps WERE predicted to drop...Friday night?? It's not Friday night yet. It is puzzling why LJS continues to use the wrong tenses in their forecasts. Did I miss something being away from my English classes for decades? "
